✦ How do I know if Umbra is a good fit?✦

At Umbra Therapy, healing occurs in the space where light and shadow intersect. Our practice specializes in supporting adults, whether individually or in relationship units (such as couples, polycules, and other intimate constellations), as they explore trauma, attachment wounds, and relational challenges with compassion and curiosity.

This will be a supportive, affirming space for exploring anxiety, grief, identity, sexuality, and intimacy. Lights will be low, seating options include a deep couch and floor cushions, fidgets, art supplies, wood-wick candle flickering, cozy blankets, sensory grounding tools, and more to help you soften into the space. Whether you’re working through the past, strengthening your connection with yourself or others, or simply aiming to feel more comfortable in your body and mind, Umbra Therapy provides guidance rooted in evidence-based practices with value-based care.

✦ What to Expect in a First Session ✦

The first meeting at Umbra Therapy is all about slowing down and getting to know you.

We’ll explore what brings you to therapy and what goals or hopes you carry. You’re always welcome to share at your own pace. We’ll also discuss your history with therapy (if applicable), outline the approaches I use, and begin mapping out how we might work together.

The session may include:

• Grounding or somatic check-ins

• A collaborative review of your goals or struggles

• Space to name your questions or hesitations about therapy

• Gentle nervous system education to help normalize your responses

You deserve a space where your emotions, thoughts, and experiences are heard.

✦ Finding the Office ✦

Parking: Parking is available in front of the building (limited during peak hours), on Berkeley St, and behind the building in an extended gravel lot.

Entrance: The office suite is nestled inside the charming Historic Berkeley building, accessible through entrance C on the second floor. You'll find signage on the door, and just inside, there's a silent doorbell you can ring to avoid startling the clinician.
